INVITATION TO BID

The Town of Brookline, acting through the Brookline Building Commission, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids for Insulation and Heating Upgrades to the Coolidge Corner School, Brookline, MA in accordance with Contract Documents prepared by HMFH Architects, Inc., 130 Bishop Allen Drive, Cambridge, MA 02139. The work of this Contract includes insulation and heating upgrades.

All bids for this Project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws (Ter. Ed), including without limitation Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended; Mass. G.L. Chapter 149, Sections 44A through 44L inclusive; and Chapter 149, Section 26 through 27D inclusive.

Filed Sub-Bids are required for the following trades:

Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning
Electrical

The estimated construction cost of this Project is $215,000.

A pre-bid site inspection and meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 1:00 PM. All Bidders are requested to meet at the Stedman Street School Entrance. The Coolidge Corner School is located at 345 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA 02446.

Each General Bidder and each Sub-Bidder may obtain complete sets of the Bidding Documents, including Bid Forms, after 2:00 PM local time, on Friday, April 26, 2019 at

Each Trade Contractor may obtain one set of the contract documents by payment of a refundable deposit of $100.00 per set, in the form of a certified, treasurers or cashier’s check, payable to the Town of Brookline.
This deposit will be refunded upon return of the sets in good condition within thirty calendar days after the closing date for bids.

Bidding Documents will be mailed to Trade Contractors upon request. Such requests must be accompanied by a separate non-refundable mailing fee of $50.00, which must be in the form of a certified, treasurer’s or cashier’s check payable to Andrew T. Johnson Co. to cover the cost of shipping (UPS Ground Service) and handling for each set of documents.
