NOTICE OF INVITATION TO BID
EAST MIDDLE SCHOOL ADDITION & RENOVATION
The Town of Braintree, as Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids for the East Middle School Renovation and Addition Project located at 305 River Street, Braintree, Massachusetts (the “Project”). Only Pre- qualified Trade-bidders (for the trades listed herein below) are eligible to submit bids. Bids shall be in accordance with Contract Documents, dated May 1, 2018 and prepared by Miller Dyer Spears Inc., 99 Chauncy St. Boston, Massachusetts.
The Braintree East Middle School is a renovation and addition project consisting of 184,425 sf, including 108,531 sf of renovation. The major additions include a prominent new entry, three-story classroom block, new gym and renovated locker area, and new a Media Commons and Academy Common infill at the existing courtyard. The existing building will have all new building systems.
The estimated construction cost is $67,736,700

A voluntary pre-bid conference will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 @ 3:00 PM local time at the Project location. Interested parties are to meet at the East Middle School, 305 River Street, Braintree, Massachusetts. All potential bidders are strongly encouraged to attend.
Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available electronically on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 10:00 am at www.atjplanroom.com (may be viewed electronically and hard copy requested) or at Andrew T. Johnson, Inc.

There is a plan deposit of $387.00 per set (maximum of 2 sets) payable to “Town of Braintree.” Deposits must be a certified or cashier’s check. This deposit will be refunded for up to two (2) sets for trade-bidders upon return of the sets in good condition within thirty days of trade bids opening. Otherwise the deposit shall be the property of the Awarding Authority.
Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $75.00 per set for UPS Ground, payable to “Andrew T. Johnson” to cover mail handling costs.

ANY ADDENDA FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE POSTED TO THIS SITE AND AN ELECTRONIC NOTIFICATION WILL BE SENT OUT TO ALL REGISTERED PLAN HOLDERS. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF PLAN HOLDERS TO CHECK AND DOWNLOAD ANY ADDENDA PRIOR TO SUBMITTING BIDS.
