The University of Massachusetts Building Authority (the “Authority” or “UMBA”) is issuing this Request for Bids (“RFB”) to invite prequalified Trade Contractors (see Part 2 Exhibit 1) to submit bids for trade contract work in connection with the Authority’s PASTEUR HALL RENOVATIONS for the University of Massachusetts Lowell Project No. UMBA #15-L3 (the “Project”). This Request for Bids relates only to Bid Package No. 2 – Multiple (12) Trades: Masonry, Misc. & Ornamental Iron, Waterproofing/Dampproofing/Caulking, Roofing & Flashing, Glass & Glazing, Acoustic Tile, Resilient Floors, Painting, Fire Protection, Plumbing, HVAC and Electrical, as described below.

Please review Part 1/Section 1.1 for the instructions in the bid documents on how to pre-register as an electronic bidder. The bids are to be prepared and submitted through www.bidexpress.com Trade Contractor online Bid Form which will include the same content as Bid Form furnished by the Authority in the Project Manual (for reference only) but will be in an electronic, fill-in the blanks, format. Information such as the name and address of the Trade Contractor Bidder, the project number, the project name, and the trade identification for the trade for which the bid is submitted will be entered by the Bidder during the registration process prior to the bid taking place. Instructions on how to complete the electronic bid documents are available in Part 1/Section 1.1. All Bids should be submitted electronically online at www.bidexpress.com and received no later than 2:00 p.m. on Friday December 15, 2017. Bids will be opened electronically and will be available to all Bidders and the General Public to review results after 2:00pm on Friday December 15, 2017.
The Pasteur Hall Renovations consists of complete interior renovation of the basement, second, third and fourth floors of Pasteur Hall to provide about 37,000 gsf of offices, administrative areas, conference rooms and common areas for the Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering Departments.
A Pre-bid Conference and Site Tour will be held on Tuesday November 28, 2017 at 2pm at UMass Lowell Pasteur Hall (meet inside Commodore’s jobsite fence gate) at 1 University Ave, Lowell, MA. Parking in campus lots is not available; there are street or public parking lot meters available nearby.

There is a plan deposit of $250.00 per set (maximum 2 sets) made payable to the UMBA
Deposits must be in the form of a certified or cashiers check. The deposit will be refunded upon return of the sets in good condition within thirty days of receipt of general bids. Otherwise the deposit shall be the property of the awarding authority.
Bidders requesting documents to be mailed, shall include a separate check, (company, certified, or money order) made out to Andrew T. Johnson Co in the amount of $100.00 for UPS Ground service.
