The project intent includes removal of existing membrane roof system, including insulation, wood blocking, and bituminous felt paper vapor retarder, down to existing concrete fill and structural concrete tees. Metal fascia trim shall be removed and replaced at roof edges. All overlying layers of existing roofing shall be removed in order to facilitate installation of new elastomeric membrane roof system with all layers of the new assembly fully adhered to the concrete fill or concrete tees. The intent of this roof replacement is to maintain the height of the existing metal fascia at the roof edge with the new work. Fastening components into the concrete tees is expressly prohibited, except for bolted connections for wood blocking which may use existing holes in the tees. New roofing must be tied into the existing adjacent roof at the Natatorium structure.
The project size is approximately 8840 gross square feet of roof replacement.
The estimated cost of construction is approximately $266,000.
A pre-bid conference will be held at Northeast Metro Tech High School Gymnasium on the 1st day of August, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., at 100 Hemlock Road, Wakefield, MA 01880. Park at 100 Hemlock Road, in the lot in front of the school building.
All General Bidders are invited and strongly encouraged to attend, but not required to attend the Pre-Bid Conference in order to submit a bid for this project. Representatives of the Architect will be in attendance.

Bid documents will be available during regular business hours after 10:00 a.m. on July 26, 2017.
A refundable Bid Document deposit of $50.00 (Fifty Dollars) per each paper set of Drawings and Specifications shall be paid in the form of a certified or cashier’s check made payable to Andrew T. Johnson Co.
Bid Document Deposits are 100% refundable for one set for all responsive bidders upon return of documents in good condition to the printer identified herein within 14 calendar days after the date of general bid opening. Failure to return bid documents within the allotted time frame will result in forfeiture of deposit and deposit will become the property of Northeast Metro Tech High School.
Bid documents can be mailed to bidders for a non-refundable $25.00 (Twenty-five Dollars) shipping and handling charge, paid to Andrew T. Johnson Co., to cover UPS Ground shipping costs.
